The Wulura Gossip Dec 2012

The Wulura Gossip Dec 2012

Well it is that time of the year again and I can’t see where the time has gone. We have had a very busy year this year and have just recently been a part of the Margaret River Gourmet Escape. Whilst it was a lot of hard work it was well worth it. We made new friends that have joined our olive oil family and we saw a lot of our old members. I think a good time was had by all and the word has got out about our Good Fresh Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We displayed some of our new items which were sold at an alarming rate.  I haven’t done any Christmas shopping myself so Santa’s elves better be working hard. I think everyone will be getting some of our oil and stainless steel pourers this year from me too!!! For all your festive season orders Click Here

Gourmet Escape Winner

Winner of the competition for the 5 Litres of olive oil was Jimmy and Helena. Jimmy is a local musician that is quite talented and it is well worth going to his You Tube clips or to his website Jimmy is very entertaining. Thanks to all who entered and lovely to meet new  and old customers in a less formal environment and to have a good time while spreading the word about the Good Oil!

What’s New

So much has been happening on our shelves of late and it is well worth an extra visit just to see.
We have added to our wine shelves:-

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2012.  Click here to go to the tasting notes and to order

Reserve 2011Click here to go to the tasting notes and to order

Shiraz 2011Click here to go to the tasting notes and to order

Don’t forget our Chardonnay 2011 which has proven to be extremely popular with the locals.

Our wines have had some success in the Japan Wine Challenge with our Chardonnay 2011 and our Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2011 winning a bronze each and our Cabernet Sauvignon winning a Silver. I personally think our Sem Sauv Blanc 2012 is a great drop.

We have also had a bit of good fortune with our Sauvignon Blanc Grapes that go into the Amberley Secret Lane Sauvignon Blanc bottle, they won a Gold and a silver in the recent Margaret River Wine Show awards. We must be doing something right.

Other additions to our Cellar Door

After months of trying to source stainless steel containers from around the world we now have Sansone Stainless Steel Olive Oil Containers and Pourers to offer you.  These are imported from Italy and are the ultimate for storing your Olive Oil and they also look fantastic in your kitchen.  The containers come in a range of 3 litre, 5 litre and 10 litre and the pourers come in 500ml and 1 litre.  We also have a gift pack being 3 litre container and a 1 litre pourer.  We are also able to post these to you if you would like to acquire one before your next visit or for a great Christmas present.

If you have visited recently, you will have noticed a few new faces. We have had Jacky, Gemma and Terri join us. All three ladies are lovely and are waiting to serve you with their friendly, smiley dispositions. Everyone believes in giving good service and if they don’t know the answer they will find it out for you.

The New Farm Shop

Well we have got the plans in at the Shire and so far so good. We have to wait the obligatory 21 days for anyone to object but hopefully early in the New Year we will be able to update you on the progress and send a few photos for you to see.

Wulura Farm Update

Other News

As some of you who have visited the cellar door in recent times would be aware that Jessie has had a little bit of a torrid time lately and if you come to the cellar door don’t say the word VET. She is a little bit touchy with Seamus the Vet. As you were all aware Jessie had a lump on her chest but this wasn’t a real problem, the real problem was a small lump on her back which ended in a scar of about 15cms long  and a bit of a tummy tuck. She is now a miniature ridgeback as she will always have the scar there. She is doing well but she will run and hide if you say the words VET or Seamus. Seamus did a good job and we were very lucky because it could have been worse.

Another little bit of news. More additions to the Wulura Family. Brad and Jenny’s Children are both going to make them Grandparents in 2013. So lots of new additions to come with grandkids and a cellar door. My goodness no rest for the wicked as they say.

We will also be adding a recipe page of all our favourite recipes. Each month we will add a couple of new recipes for everyone to try.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy Hew Year and we look forward to seeing you soon.

If you would like to order your Christmas and New Year supplies you can go to our website or you can contact us at the farm on 08 97551049 or Jenny at . We will be closed on Christmas day but we will then be open 7 days a week. Looking forward to seeing you all over the Summer holiday period. Please keep safe.

Best wishes from the Wulura Team & Jess
